Dear Saints Peter and Paul Families,
I hope this letter finds you enjoying the summer! It is my honor to be serving as your new principal for the 2025-2026 school year. I am looking forward to meeting each of you and working together to make this a wonderful year!
As an educator in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for fifteen years and a product of Catholic schools, I firmly believe in the importance of Catholic education. In 2010, I earned my dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary Education and History, with a minor in Religious Studies from Cabrini University. This past May 2025, I completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership as a member of the Sullivan Leadership Cohort from Immaculata University. I completed my student teaching at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Philadelphia, and then went on to teach there for three years, where I was the co-director of CARES, the co-director of the annual Race for Education fundraiser, and a member of University of Pennsylvania's Distributed Leadership Team. In 2013, I began teaching at St. Andrew School in Newtown, where I taught both Kindergarten and First Grades, and eventually became the lead teacher in both grades, serving as a mentor teacher to new teachers. During my time at St. Andrew School, I served in various roles: CARES director; Math and Science Curriculum Coordinator; Sunshine, STEM, Rosary, Bible Story, and Lego After School Clubs; Marketing and Emergency Crisis Committees; Faculty Home and School Representative; and All Saints Pageant Co-moderator. Additionally, when our administrative team was absent, I was able to substitute in that position to help prepare me to become a principal.
It is my goal to combine my academic and professional experiences, along with my enthusiasm and love for Catholic education, to serve as your principal. I believe that every child has the right to learn and grow in a safe environment where the principal sets the tone for equipping future Saints. As your principal, I will strive to sustain and instill our school’s motto of “Hearts to Love and Hands to Serve” in leading our school community.
On Sunday, August 10th, I will be at the 9:30 Mass, with an informal “Meet & Greet” at school following the Mass. Hope to see you there! Please feel free to reach out with any questions and concerns.
Sincerely,
Ms. Nicole Pontious
