PRAYER: The feast of St. Pope John Paul II was celebrated on October 22nd. Below is a prayer to the popular Saint, who was canonized by Pope Francis in 2014.
 
Oh, St. John Paul, from the window of heaven, grant us your blessing! Bless the Church that you loved and served and guided, courageously leading her along the paths of the world in order to bring Jesus to everyone and everyone to Jesus. Bless the young, who were your great passion. Help them dream again, help them look up to the heavens again to find the light that illuminates the paths of life here on earth. May you bless each and every family! You warned of Satan’s assault against this precious and indispensable divine spark that God lit on earth. St. John Paul, with your prayer, may you protect the family and every life that blossoms from the family.
Pray for the whole world, which is still marked by tensions, wars and injustice. You opposed war by invoking dialogue and planting the seeds of love: pray for us so that we may be tireless sowers of peace. Oh St. John Paul, from heaven’s window, where we see you beside Mary, send God’s blessing down upon us all. Amen.
 
 
SCHOOL NEWS
 
Books: We are still waiting on the Pennsylvania State Legislature to pass the budget. Once this is passed, our book orders can be processed and they will start to come in; thank you for your patience during this time!
 
SPPP Spirit wear: Spirit Wear can be ordered online anytime; however, the clothes are not part of our school uniform. Please see the attached link to order: SSPP Spirit Shop
 
Pretzels: November Pretzel Orders are due on Monday, October 27th. Cost is $11.90 Cash or $12.32 by Card.
 
Parent/Teacher Conferences: Please see the attached link to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher: Parent/Teacher Conferences. The sign up will close tomorrow 10/24; if you have not signed up for a conference, please do so by tomorrow.
 
Safety: Safety remains a top priority in our school community. We are in constant communication with local law enforcement, who patrol our lot on a weekly basis, and our school safety coordinator to monitor and improve our safety protocols. We practice classroom and whole school lockdown, fire, and weather drills. When entering school, you will only be buzzed into the first door and you will have to show your ID before entering the office. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
 
Winter Uniforms: Winter uniforms will begin on Monday, November 3rd. Please note the Dress Code in of school, including appropriate skirt lengths.

CAFETERIA NEWS
 
Please check your child's account and note that the Meal cost is $6.00 and the Ice Cream Cost is $2.00. Ice cream is offered on Fridays only; Kindergarten through Second Grade students will have a choice of four options each Friday. Please check your child's account balance. We appreciate your attention to this matter and your continued support.
 
 
FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE
 
Please note that the exclusion deadline for Physicals & Dentals is THIS Monday, October 27, 2025.This means that all physicals and dentals for the following students need to be in the Nurse’s office by 10/27/25 to avoid your child being excluded from school:
Physical Exams are required for Kindergarten and 6^th graders, as well as any new students, regardless of the grade they are entering and must be signed and dated on or after August 2024 to fulfill the PA state mandate.
Dental Exams are required for Kindergarten, 3^rd  and 7th graders, as well as any new students, regardless of the grade they are entering and must be signed and dated on or after August 2024 to fulfill the PA state mandate.

K thru 8 Student Health Screenings for 2025-2026:
The state mandated health screenings will begin next week. Please ensure your child is bringing their glasses/wearing their contacts to school every day.
 
Common illnesses and conditions this time of year:
Head lice – please check your children regularly and report any cases to the nurse for protocol guidance. Flu/covid/pneumonia/hand, foot & mouth/strep/GI bug/pink eye (to name a few) – keep home and email nurse for guidance. Working together will help minimize the spread of illness and ensure we are all following the proper protocols.
Please remember to include the nurses in on any medical communication to the faculty/staff. Thank you!
 
 
SAFE ENVIRONMENT
